Local Employment Opportunities

Local business procurement and employment opportunities are a key focus of the project. Through the Delburn Wind Farm survey, which was open throughout 2019, over 80% of survey respondents indicated employment opportunities are the most sought-after benefit they wish to see from this project. The economic analysis of the project estimates that the Delburn Wind Farm will create up to 186 FTE direct and indirect jobs during the two-year construction period and approximately 24 direct and indirect new, on-going jobs during the 30-year operating life. Wherever possible OSMI is committed to maximising local procurement and employment opportunities.

Employment opportunities will be advertised on this web site as they arise and published in local print and social media; a list of the likely positions required during the construction phase has been prepared.

Local contractors are invited to register their interest in tendering for the construction works here.

In addition, OSMI will look to partner with local training and education providers to provide appropriate pathways to employment in the renewable energy industry.
